Our Joys and Concerns for this week include:

  • Birthday Joys: Dan Cudworth (January 22)
  • Laura Garcia for Jan Gunderson, our church choir and all the beautiful music they share
  • Carolyn Shepard with gratitude for our community and its diversity, recognizing that we are immigrants in one or another
  • In celebration of the beauty and worth of all the people in every part of this world, especially our Haitian and African siblings
  • For the great witness and work of Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • Kathy Gillam for our country that we might move from selfishness and ugliness to compassion
  • For the Turpin family in southern California

Joys and Concerns

Our Joys and Concerns for this week include:

  • Birthday Joys: Salvador Ramirez (January 3), Barbara Hing (January 6)
  • Dan and Laurie who are expectant grandparents
  • For the presence of the Nasons and the Tuans in worship
  • Katarina, thankful and grateful for her career that has involved so much traveling, bringing both difficult and rewarding times over the many years
  • Laurie Cudworth for her mother, Charlotte, who is doing a bit better; thankful for Christmas time with family; excited that she and Dan will be grandparents next July
  • Dan Cudworth, thinking about resolutions for the New Year, hoping we might all resolve to be a people of prayer this year
  • Pastor Gregory for Mosaic – the energy and momentum after the first event is strong; next event is coming up in a few weeks and prayers are appreciated

  • Birthday blessings for Paul Tuan (December 13) and Juve Ramirez (December 18)
  • For Dick and Lorraine Barry as they celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary
  • Melanie Ramirez for the great experience she and Daniel had volunteering at EHP the Sunday before Thanksgiving; for all the good work EHP does
  • Kathy Gillam for a good time visiting daughter, Julia and husband, Micah
  • Paul Berry for their family tradition of forgoing the “compulsory comfort” of the season by giving gifts that are only donations, free, or handmade, freeing them to enjoy the season without consumer pressure
  • Melanie for Elizabeth Ramirez and family as they continue to mourn the death of her father in Mexico
  • Kathy for our country for an end to polarization and a return of values
  • Carolyn Shepard for refugees and immigrants, especially those detained in ICE centers
  • Nana Spiridon for the administration’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel with all the turmoil that is causing in the Middle East
  • For Ron Tuttle recovering at home from a surgical procedure and for Thelma as she cares for him
  • For all those affected by the fires in southern California

  • Chip Clark for all those who helped him raise $215 in his Movember project for men’s health
  • Eleanor Satterlee with thanks for all who helped decorate our sanctuary which looks lovely
  • Nana Spiridon reminding us of the crèche exhibit at the LDS facility on Middlefield
  • For Elizabeth Ramirez and family – her father died Saturday in Mexico
  • Chip Clark for some of the folk in his apartment building who are low income and feeling the stress of the holiday season
  • For Ron Tuttle recovering at home from a surgical procedure and for Thelma as she cares for him
  • Pastor Rick for the friends and family of Kevin Avila, a former counseling intern and colleague, who committed suicide in September; for all those struggling with drugs and depression
  • For all those affected by the fires in southern California
  • For peace for the people of Syria, Yemen and Myanmar
  • For all those affected by the AIDS pandemic on World AIDS Day, December 1

  • Lois Ville for her brother-in-law, Lee, who had successful hip surgery; for Caroline and him as they are separated during his recovery
  • Charlotte Jackson that she is finally free from pain after her hip surgery
  • For the family of Marcia Heydon who gathered to celebrate her life last Sunday
  • For all those affected by the massacre at the Sikh mosque last week
  • For Ron Tuttle who will have surgical procedure tomorrow
  • For peace for the people of Syria, Yemen and Myanmar
  • For all those affected by the AIDS pandemic on World AIDS Day, December 1

  • Laurie Cudworth for her mother, Charlotte, who is ore but OK after a recent all
