Our Joys and Concerns for this week include:

  • Lois Ville for Mary Granholm on her birthday
  • Melanie Ramirez for the joy of singing under her dad, Steve Reddy, as he conducted a 100 voice choir for a Habitat for Humanity event in Modesto; for Daniel who is auditioning for a band camp in Milwaukee and will be marching in the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade
  • Dan Cudworth remembering the three women murdered in Yountville as they worked with veterans with PTSD – “the price of love”
  • For David, the Tuttles and all those affected by the recent death of Sally Kurtzman
  • For all those affected by the school shooting in Florida and for an end to gun violence; for those young people walking out of class to protest gun violence
  • For our neighbors that we may find ways to live peacefully with them
  • For our All Church Family Conversation this weekend
  • For Don, Dustin, and Dylan Ha as they deal with the difficulties of serious water damage to their home
  • For Mosaic South Bay as it takes root and grows
  • For all the good work supported by our annual America for Christ offering

  • Chuck and Nancy Syverson with thanks for our hospitality during their visit
  • Jan Gunderson, glad to be back home after a fantastic trip to Egypt (where it snowed on the pyramids last week for the first time in over 100 years!)
  • For the joy of having Jessie and Paul Tuan worship with us
  • For the Chins as they travel in Asia
  • Kitsy Bocook for the joy of worshipping with old friends
  • For the Evergreen contingent on a mission trip to Haiti
  • Paul Berry remembering the long, rich life of his former boss with the Friends service Committee when he worked in Haiti (“She kept on doing right for 104 Years!”)

  • For the joy of having Jessie and Paul Tuan worship with us
  • For the Chins as they travel in Asia and the Gundersons as they travel in Egypt
  • Laurie Cudworth for their whole family as they gather to celebrate her parents’ (Charlotte and Jack) birthdays this Saturday
  • Lois Ville for her sister, Caroline, and brother-in-law, Leroy, who were discharged from the health facility to their home on Monday
  • Dan Cudworth for his Uncle Les who had a stroke and is in the hospital
  • For David, the Tuttles and all those affected by the death of Sally Kurtzman who died last Friday
  • `For all those affected by the school shooting in Florida and for an end to gun violence
  • Chuck Syverson for friends living in Parkland, Florida, whose children went to Stoneham Douglas High School; remembering the pain of the living
  • Dan Cudworth recognizing the high price we pay for arming the world
  • Kathy Gillam for all those suffering from the failure of Congress to pass DACA legislation, with prayers for wisdom and courage in our representatives
  • Susan Bradley for older undocumented folk, many of whom have lived in this country for a long time, especially for a painter she met last week who has lived in this country for over 20 years whose 18 year old father lives in fear for her dad
  • Pastor Gregory for all those affected by the 150 calls that have come into the Rapid Response Network in Santa Clara County recently concerning undocumented residents, encouraging us all to have Rapid Response training
  • For Don, Dustin, and Dylan Ha as they deal with the difficulties of serious water damage to their home
  • For Mosaic South Bay as it takes root and grows
  • Carolyn Shepard for the good work of Correctional Institutions Chaplaincy in ths Santa Clara County jails, for the hope they provide for those in prison

  • Paul Berry for helping the pastor (and the congregation) understand that “many” in Sunday’s Ancient Word (Mark 1:29-29) probably means something like “the many” so that it is likely Jesus healed “all” who were brought to him that day
  • Lois Ville for Eileen Conover who is facing hip surgery; for her sister, Carolyn, recovering from back surgery and a cut on her leg
  • Melanie Ramirez for a co-worker, Linda< whose father died last week
