Life Around the Church (11/16)

by Betsy Anderson, Office Manager/Building Supervisor

Betsy AndersonBy my door, the leaves are falling, all around the patio, and everywhere you look, the leaves still on the trees rustle in the wind, and the youth garden is thriving with bush beans, basil, chocolate mint, cilantro, and rosemary.

Indoors, classes are in full swing. On any given Monday, the Macrobiotic chefs are chopping up fresh ingredients for the evening meal, while on the other side of the kitchen wall Andrea Monti glides across the floor of the Fellowship Hall demonstrating a flawless Tango with one of her dance students.

We also have a new neighborhood mom’s singing group that meets Monday mornings in the Parlor.

Besides cooking, dancing, singing, and music lessons, there are concerts and recitals in the Sanctuary throughout the month:

  • Nov 5: Palo Alto Philharmonic, 8 PM
  • Nov 6: Nina Hsu Piano Recital, 1:30 PM
  • Nov 12: iSing Concert, 8 PM
  • Nov 13: Resounding Achord Concert, 2 PM
  • Nov 19: iSing Concert, 8 PM

Other important things going on in November include:

  • Nov 8: ELECTION DAY (the church is a polling place)
  • Nov 8: Veteran’s Day
    Nov 24: Thanksgiving Day
  • The Church Office will be closed on November 24 and 25 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
